SYRIA, Roman Province of Syria, after Seleukid kingdom of Philip Philadelphos, dated by Caesarean era, issued in year 4 = 46-45 B.C., silver tetradrachm, (15.54 g), Antioch mint, obv. head of Philip to right, with diademed, fillet border, rev. Zeus seated to left, on throne holding Nike, ANT (Antioch) monogram to left, **D* exergue, legends left and right **[B]ASILEWS FILIPPOU EPIFANOUS [FI]LADELFO[U]*, (S.7215, cf.BMC 7, RPC 4128, Dura V (NNM 38) No.1). Toned, grey patina, extremely fine, rare, one of the finest known.
